Industrial Design shall be protected if it is new and independently created. The term of the registered industrial design shall be 5 years from the filing date of the registration of industrial design and may be renewed, for not more than two consecutive periods of five years each.

Requirements:

1. to fill up details of applicant and proposed Design in the application form  (ID-1 form)
2. to execute the form for appointment of representative (ID-2 form) which is to be notarized by the Notary Public (we will send you the prepared ID-2 form when we get details of applicant and proposed design from you).

Procedures

E-filing applications are to be filed via the stipulated account of authorized Design Representative into IP Department’s E-filing system. There will be examination, publication and opposition procedures before granting registration. The term of the registered industrial design shall be 5 years from the filing date and may be renewed, for not more than two consecutive periods of five years each.
